About Egress Studio Press
Egress Studio Press is the publishing imprint of Egress Studio, a graphic design and illustration company in Bellingham, Washington. Since 2000, Egress Studio Press has been dedicated to publishing books by Pacific Northwest poets.
We’re very proud of our poets. Each one endeavors to foster unity and inspiration in the literary community. Bart Baxter, for example, sponsors a performance competition in which the poems must stand up on the page as well as the stage. James Bertolino is the emcee at a Northwest poetry series, and mentor to many poets. Sibyl James travels the world, and uses poetry as a tool to connect one culture with another. Sue Erickson is co-director of the Whatcom Poetry Series: The Poet as Art, which honors the oral tradition of poetry by offering readings in an art gallery. These dedicated poets offer you their best poems on the pages of Egress Studio Press book.
Egress Studio Press books are noted for their beauty, as well as their content. We strive to publish books with a simple yet elegant design, excellent poetry, and a look that gives one the desire to take them off the shelf. The poetry lover knows each book has something new to offer.
Greeting Cards, Broadsides and Rare Books
Egress Studio Press offers a variety of original greeting cards. Some include poetry from Egress Studio Press poets. Others are original artworks by designer/illustrator Anita K. Boyle. They are sold individually and in special card sets.
Poetry broadsides are also available. These vary from new broadsides designed by Boyle, to large silkscreen prints by the artist Harold Balazs, to selected letterpress versions. Check back often—the broadside selection will change from time to time.
The rare and out-of-print poetry books and magazines come from the personal collection of James Bertolino. Included in the collection are early editions of small press poetry magazines and distinctive letterpress books. If you are looking for a specific book or magazine, send us an e-mail, and we'll check to see if it's in the collection.
